Why don't you die Adobe Acrobat

Everytime I want to open up a PDF file i get a little box popping up saying "Adobe Acrobat has detected a problem and needs to shut down... do you want to send a report to Microsoft ?". I installed Adobe Acrobat 9 but this problem keeps happening and the PDF file doesn't open. Any suggestions as to what to do ?

To hell with Adobe Acrobat I've decided to instal Foxit instead and view PDF files this way.

Yes foxit is good, I have pdfil(or something like that.) There are a lot of good pdf readers like that look on Cnet or somewhere reliable to avoid spyware, alternatively you could try an older version of acrobat 7 or 8, it will bug you to updatye but if it works better ignore it.

Another vote from me in favour of Foxit.

Foxit rules! Acrobat reader is a slow, memory consuming piece of software!

Yes..re Acrobat reader 9...after I downloaded it, it tried to open all my word documents as default as well as PDF files. If you want to continue using acrobat, try selecting a PDF file from your documents at random, and right click. Select 'open with' , 'choose program'. Select Acrobat reader 9 Then tick box at 'always use selected program to open this kind of file'. Acrobat should then open all your PDF files.
If Acrobat is trying to open your word docs, repeat the above for a word file, but select word, instead of Acrobat.

Have to agree...it's a pretty shitty piece of kit..it is handy for online magazines though.

Well I don't know which version you are using at present. It would be better if you tell me the version and then I can give you the better suggestion. I think you can even try the on line update may be it can help you too.
