    Re: Symantec Virus Checker

I am in process of starting FSX as something to do instead of locums. First discs failed to load so awaiting replacements from Amazon.
May be asking you for some tips. Took me a long time on FS2004 to discover:
    1) Runways were named according to the point on the compass.
    2) IlS existed.
Might see you on the justflight forum.
    regards,
    johnep

Certainly! I've been 'simming' since FS 95 and created a few scenery addons (freeware) in the past on FlightSim.com. Feel free to e-mail or PM me with any questions you have.

Having worked in IT for over 10 years, I'm not a fan of Symantec/Norton products.

Personally I like Kaspersky (but then that is just my opinion), if your looking for sensibly priced AV that doesn't grind you to a halt, and works well.

AVG Free ok, but agree not perfect.

The full version of AVG is available on a free download with a months use. This will stop a lot more than the free virus only product - Doesn't slow your system down either.
Get a licence off ebay from a legit reseller for around £12 a year

The automatic update will be shut off by mistake bu some one in the security settings. Just check it out and on it if off. May be it's virus definition be old and need to update it.
