Same IP Address!

I'm not guessing here, it's a fact. I've been to over 50 pharmacies with N3 and they all have the same outward facing IP address (at least those supplied via IMS).

Open up a brower, go to What Is My IP Address - Shows Your IP Address and you'll see your outward facing IP address. Compare that with another pharmacy on N3 via IMS and you'll find it's the same.

Until you have done that, please don't post and tell me it's not possible!

With IMS all machines on the network will have their own address, this will start with the number 10. this is because you are effectivley on a big VPN network, from this IMS have a gateway that connects to the outsite network (the internet) therefore if you have the same system supplier you should all have the same IP address for internet traffic.

You will find most ISPs use a proxy where all out bound IP's appear to be the same, simular to how home routers acheive multiple connections from one outbound IP (NAT)
I know AOL has this in place as we get multiple connections from the same IP with multiple people logged in

all the above sounds about right to me. also from where I work cegedim seem to control what can/can't be viewed on the internet (PF is blocked for us), this is most likely done via a proxy of some sort so it wouldn't surprise me if many pharmacies share the same public IP address

also with regards to banning, I think there might be other ways (involving MAC addresses which basically identify an individual computer), but there's no foolproof way

cegedim is slowwwwwww. I've got a non pipex broadband at the same address and its much faster !

Every ip on Cegedim network will start with 172.

The N3 line (internet from cegedim) has to be a very secure line, goes through many filewalls etc this might be why it seems fine, its not really their for normal every day surfing etc.

If you need anything unblock from the Cegedim network say NHS.webmail you need to contact cegedim about this.

Hello friend, Only two ways of getting same IP address on a local network -

1. One assign by the Router Support device. The router will never assign the same IP address to two computers at the same time.
2 Second have a fixed IP address.

Reboots the system or router and check again.

Thats the thing, the IP address that people are on about is the External address.

The Internal addresses are all different, and on the IMS network all begin with 10.
