past expeirence of proscript (EPSr1 versions) - extremely slick interface for day to day manual labelling & a good ordering system - but for anything else it was tooth-gnashingly buggy and prone to crashing - lost lots of addict stuff so i resorted to just using manual labelling instead.
EPS scripts were about as much good on it as a chocolate teapot and i got sick of ringing up Rx systems to shout at them. It would frequently lose scripts, get them corrupted, not recognise drug codes embedded in them so crash etc etc.
Much happier now i use nextphase - only downside is that it's a system hog on our dispensary PCs...
Thankfully the only sheep i see are the ones i almost run over on my drive home...

If you are fed up with waitng for ETP scripts have a look at PharmaSys. This system has to be the fastest ETP on the planet!
I have heard rumours that Proscript gets very slow if you have more than two terminals, Anyone got any comments on this?
We have 9 terminals. At first we did have some issues with speed but they upgraded the network cards, and changed a few settings and things improved considerably. One of the recent updates also seemed to improve things.
The server is a higher spec than the clients and is not used for labelling as it is in office. Whether speed issues would occur if it was used for labelling I don't know?
Now everything works well with very few problems.
EPS........ last time i did one of them was about 2 months ago, that is far to slow and needs improving. We do 28000 a month and I don't think I'd ever see my home if we had to do all them by EPS. If things don't improve with EPS by then I'm quitting![]()
I guess you need some monster spec on the main pc to keep the speed up!
If your ETp download time is more than 1 second I would reccommend you look at Pharmasys
bobbin, Pharmasys does both. Also, I hear the drug management functionality is about to be further upgarded to add even more stock control and ordering flexibilty. Give them a ring and see if they'll let you on to the demo site. No special kit required for pharmasys, just broadband and almost any pc with a web browser!
ETP is very quick; downloads in a flash, just a couple of clicks to confirm patient and prescriber then its one click for each item on script (unless you want to re-type the dr.s dodgy instructions!).
