While I was studying Angina, I saw the traditional anti-anginal drugs NTG , BB or CCB.
But I encounterd a new drug that is Ranolazine.
Have anyone encoutered Ranolazine in his/her practical experience?

”We are real. We are not glam sh*t or anything else. We are Guns N’ Roses.”
Our cardiologists are loving it at the moment. It's now on formularly alongside other new additions ivabdradine, eplerenone and dronedarone.
i though ranolazine was used as a protective measurement in ischaemic heart disease, as it prevents cell death via preventing calcium overload
Unlike other anti-anginal drugs (BB,NTG,CCB), ranolazine dosn't affect heart rate , contractility , vascular resistance or coronary blood supply!
It just inhibits late Na current.
thats right, it blocks the slow persistant na channel in the heart which is opened due to hypoxia
