That's good that you're feeling better. Perhaps you feel better because your blood glucose is more stable?

Anyway, after 2 weeks I will drop my nardil dose down to 3 and see how I go.
Take care, you don't want to reduce Nardil too quickly and destabilise yourself, if that happens it can be difficult to stabilise again. How about staying on 4 x 15mg per day for a couple of months, it's too early to say how you will fare on the lower dose. I hope the good feeling will last.

    Best of luck.

Re: Here is a challenge for you - Phenelzine and weight gain and treatment options

I just thought I would update this thread as I have stumbled accross it while looking for info on a related subject.

2 months ago I did a rapid withdrawl from phenelzine from 4 tablets per day to one every other day.
It was hellish, waking up in pools of sweat, throwing punches and yelling out in my sleep... after 2 weeks I was through the worst of it but I had to increase the dose again before dropping it back dude to constant "electric shocks" every few seconds.
I lost 10kg in 4 weeks..thats like 22lbs or something right? I looked like I had lost even more because I wasn't so bloated.
One thing I did realise which may interest the lady who is also on phenelzine, is that while I was eating good food when on Nardil, my serving sizes were way big and I was basically fitting in an extra meal a day.
But it seemed totally normal at the time...it seemed like I was being really disciplined...but I wasn't.
Now I eat a couple of small meals per day and that is what is normal for me.

Anyway, I had a month on one a day and I was supprised at how stable I was. Now I have been switched to agomeletine which seems to be helping 3 days in. I think I am getting some rebound hypertension.
The good thing about argomeletine is that you can switch straight over from a maoi (though I got down to one a day and then washed out for 1 day and took a half dose of argomeletine) but it still should be noted that I felt really hot and had a mildly hypertensive reaction so be cautious!!!

I have never been a problem drinker but every drink seems to make me sad as hell now...and while I was on nardil...an arsehole. So I have decided to stop drinking. This will be very hard but I need to do it.
I had been chewing nicotine gum for 2 years on nardil, now I have stopp
ed it, I feel no need for the gum either....it makes me way anxious without nardil.

I am shit scared to be honest. I am 33 and I see my life on a path to being a bitter angry lonely old man. I want to stop this.
I have started reading spiritual type books... started practicing mindfullness and pulling myself up whenever I start being negative.. I am trying to love....I think much can be gained from this..
And LSD... 2 weeks till my first trip in ages. Always leaves me feeling fantastic for months so I cant wait

Just accept that you have a personality which requires some form of chemical stimulation. A counsellor may be helpful.
