Don't forget its how you use the stuff as well.
eg : Nappy rash - usually gone with two days of Canesten-HC, sometimes overnight!

Where am I?; In the Pharmacy.
Who are you?; The new Number 2.
Who is number 1?; You are number 6.
What do you want?;..................
Aren't fusidic acid and gentamycin both anti-bacterials? I assume they have no effect against viruses but do they have anti-fungal activity or are you including them because they are bacteriostatic? However I could also imagine that bactericidal antibiotics could promote resistance without an active immune system helping out. That rules out a host of popular products then, such as Fucidin H, Canestan H, Genticin drops etc etc.
Surely the addition of an antibiotic would be sensible since if patient is immuno-compromised because of the steroid, the infection would worsen. However I guess the reason for including the antibiotic isn't to negate the risk of a suppressed immune system but to prevent microbial invasion of tissue prone to infection or to fight an already active infection.
Sorry if that didn't make a whole lot of sense, I've had a couple of beers.
Btw, why are anti-fungals and anti-virals CI with concurrent steroid use.
I need to get to bed, sorry if the above is a bit of a ramble.
Today I've seen a "triad" cream contains :
antibiotic ( gentamicin )
antifungal ( miconazole )
corticosteriod ( mometasone )
Thanks
Aye and there is Trimovate containing clobetasone, nystatin and oxytetracycline
