Re: Could someone explain me what exactly does a rotational pharmacist???
they just rotate around the different specialities within the hopsital...so each rotation maybe 3, 6 or 9 months depending on the hospital..so youll do say 3 months in medicine, 3 in surgery, 3 in medicines information, 3 in production, 3 in paediatrics, and it carries on like that throughout your rotational time
as for exact jobs you do, mostly spent on the wards, sorting out discharge prescriptions, drug histories, ordering items, dealing with doctors, nurss and the like..may spend some time in dispensary with outpatient prescriptions

you also have to be oncall i.e. stay overnight in the hospital to supply emergency medicines (in theory it should be an emergency, but in some hospitals you will be contacted for routine medication that should wait till the morning).
other hospitals allow you to go home, and you only have to come in if you are contacted for 'proper' emergency supplies.
