    Mozzies and Vit B2 etc

Heard a Dr talking about holidays on local radio. She was suggesting riboflavin (B2) to prevent bites. I always thought was B1 (Thiamine).

Also suggest magnesium peroxide (sic) for stomach upsets. (Did she mean Mag Hydrox)

Pre holiday, suggested probiotics with at least 2 billion bugs.

Sources were healthfood shops, supermarkets and chemists in that order.

Good to know who are the real experts on medicines.

Was she a real doctor??? We were told to try brewers yeast before we went to Mexico and Cuba....the little b******* still feasted on us even after the brewers yeast, 50% deet, citronella candles, clothing, booze, bounce sheets in the dryer, fly spray, flip flops and plug in mossie repellants....

Introduced as a local Dr from Luton area. (Dr Enid). I am rarely bitten but my wife is a tasty morsel for insects. Must be pheromones.

It is B1... But there's no actual evidence to suggest it works.

Do you mean something like this little thing? Boots Bite and Sting relief Click it - Boots

We used it a few years back on our last family holiday, and it does seem to take the sting and itch away - though I'm a big softie and was afraid of the zapp, whereas my brother (the big brave boy scout) was zapping himself all the time because it was "fun"!! Definately a handy size for travelling.

I'm not sure which B vitamin it's supposed to be but my old Guide leader swore by a spoonful of Marmite every day on camp - yeuch!! I'd rather be bitten!
