No fool like an old fool
I really must start reading PILs. Since the op have had swollen ankles and hot flushes. Saw my GP today and he said you are on amlodipine, common side effects.
Checked my chest etc.
I have not come across these actual s/e before. Good job have not come up in an MUR.
So, I will stop amlodipine 5mg and double the bisoprolol if BP shoots up.
Now all you keen young pharmacologists, is there a Ca channel blocker without these s/e? Amlodipine controlled my BP very well.

Re: No fool like an old fool
Lercanidipine has been shown to cause less incidence of ankle swelling.
That's what I usually change pts to if not tolerating amlodipine well.
