I had a patient for a MUR today who has developed severe gynaecomastia since taking Bicalutamide 150mg. I'm not talking slight boobs here, if he was a woman they'd be a healthy D cup
This is becoming somewhat problematic with his day to day life. He needs something to support them so they don't wobble and bounce around. Ideally he was looking for something prescribable on an FP10.
Any ideas? A sports-bra would be perfect, but he was not too happy with that idea. The only thing I could think of would be something that had a "compression hosiery" effect but for use on his trunk. I had a look at Tubifast but they don't provide any real support. I'm fairly sure there isn't anything else suitable in the Drug Tariff, but I could be wrong.
Thanks- they do have links to some interesting garments that seem to resemble gimp suits. Nothing prescribable, but they are reasonably inexpensive. I will pass on the information and give up on the "squeezing into a Tubigrip G" idea!
Bearing in mind this is the clinical forum, my trick is to wear a hawaiian shirt, and raise my arms a lot, as if Doug Howlett has just scored a try. Key point..avoid Guinness.
