    Written Requisition - Help

I was hoping someone could help me on the following requisition written by a dentist:

    Dentists Name + qualifications
    " Address

    Date

    Please supply
    50 Co-Fluampicil 250/250 capsules

    Signature

As far as I know, for written requisitions only full packs may be supplied. So would I dispense a pack of 28 or two packs of 28 (56) ? I've searched through the MEP and didn't get much luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Suggest give him the 56 and forget about it...don't lose sleep over this one.

Are we not supposed to split packs on stock requisitions now? Didn't know that!!! Is it new??

(I still would give 56 on this one anyway)

I'd give 56 too. I don't use Co-Fluampicil often so I'd have to charge for the whole box anyway. Seems the preferable option unless you want to hack six capsules out of the strip.

Like Lamzee I've often split boxes for requisitions too. I've not heard that this is not allowed. Do you have a reference for this?

Errm... Maybe I should point out that I'm not a pharmacist (yet), I'm a third yr student and this was part of a dispensing exercise.

We've always been told to dispense full packs for requisitions.

No bother...looks like we're all agreed on 56 then! Now that we know it was an exercise, and based on the fact that 50 was requested, I seem to remember that the number of original packs can be supplied which most closely resembles the quantity requested, whether over or under that amount.
