Cytochrome P450 (2D6) metabolis testing
Hi,
Can anyone tell me of a UK lab that can test the function of the Cytochrome P450 (mainly 2D6 subset) metabolic system? This is particularly in relation to the metabolism of certain opioids like codeine for example.
Many Thanks,
mr_colt.

There is an FDA approved test called the Amplichip, which could be used by a pathology lab anywhere, only they'd have to be persuaded to do it as its not available on the NHS. Roche Diagnostics UK & Ireland - Products and Services - Patients on Anti-coagulation Therapy
You could also contact the Human Genome Project at the Sanger Institute, they might know how someone can get tested as part of a clinical trial.
