My uncle had bypass surgery a few years ago and scared the hell out of his wife. He came back from his first GP checkup with a face as long as a fiddle.
She asked what was wrong and he said that the GP had said that he had to take these tablets for the rest of his life. When she asked what was wrong with that? HE said he's only given me 28!

Yes my Dad's whole family is mad!

So in your best diplomatic voice you told him not to buy an album - just the single?

Do you really think it will make any difference.

Private Rx (Sorry didn't mean to swear admin! ) has been running for years and all you get are the same old whingers moaning and basically sitting on their arse.

I think it's part of being British. Moan and whinge about prices while we pay them. Moan and whinge about service while doing nothign about it. Moan and whinge about the govt then vote them back in again!

As an old arse bound whinger - I have to say that I believe that PrivateRx (for all its faults) has made a difference.

You say such lovely things, thanks a lot. I have feeling a rebound post will come at me from Linnear, like Zidane in the world cup finals, but never mind, I can handle it !

We have been announced in the PJ, and have a link on the PJ on-line (if it's still there - I haven't looked lately). The post is in the "Please Read This First" section, and says: -

This forum has been mentioned in the Pharmaceutical Journal, 4th March 2006.

It was on the notice board page, and reads: -

ANNOUNCEMENT
Online forum
A new online pharmacy discussion
forum is now available at
www.pharmacy-forum.co.uk
I also have a little Google campaign running. Try typing "pharmacy forum uk" or something like that into Google, and you should see the ad. Don't click it - it will cost me money! Ok about 26p, but it adds up!

I say a little campaign, because as the forum doesn't make any money, I can't just pump tons of cash into it. I do spend a bit, but not a great deal.

I do it because I wanted a computer hobby that had a pharmacy element to it, and this seemed the right one!

If anyone would like to write to the PJ and mention us, then that would be nice.............

I can't really, because it just looks like advertising. I like to think we all own it though, as a forum is only as good as it's members, and you lot have been great.

Many Thanks !

Question Make a Difference?

Hi Everyone

I'm not sure if forums, news groups, mailing lists etc make any differences, but I think at the least it's nice to meet some new people, make friends and contacts.

For example, tomorrow I am having a web-cam chat with Piq from Italy. I personally think that making a pharmacist friend in Italy, and talking to them for free through a live web link is great, and makes the effort worthwhile. How else could you meet people from places such as Iran for example.

If I hadn't started this, then I wouldn't be reading Linnear's novel!

I also think it's nice to get other people's opinions on things, and a bit of support is always nice isn't it? It's like a little on-line community, and we help each other out, and that's great too.

Ok enough, I'm gonna puke again........................
