    Hospital Pharmacist vs. Retail Pharmacist

I'd like to know pros and cons of these two kinds of jobs in th Uk...Admin you said in one post that as a retail pharmacist you still haven't found a nice place to work in over ten years! :? I'm a little worried now! Hospital jobs are as frenetic as retail ones?what are the main differences?

Have not worked in Hospital but a friend of mine reckons it's the best way to go.

Less paperwork etc. plus you rarely have to meet sh*tty members of the general public!

    Hospital

    Piq

I have worked in industry, hospital and retail - Ok I get sacked a lot.......

I would say hospital is generally more interesting, as you need to use more of your clinical knowledge, and can specialise in one area of pharmacy (eg renal pharmacy).

There are good stores to work in though, and there are people on the forum who are happy with their retail career.

If you come to the UK you could start in retail, and look for a suitable hospital role when you are here.

In general we still seem to be short of pharmacists in the UK (from my experience) and you would easily get a job in retail, as well as a better starting salary.

I worked with a pharmacist I hadn't worked with on monday.

After four hours she said that I had the perfect customer service attributes for industry.
