Becoming a pharmacist assistant in UK

    Hello,

I am sorry if i posted this in wrong section, but i didn't know where else to ask such questions.

I come from Latvia (EU) and i am new in this country. I have bachelour's degree in pharmacy, but i have attended University of Latvia and as far as i am concerned educations across sea is not really accepted here.

So my questions is what kind of qualifications i need to go through or what kinda courses i need to take to be able to work as pharmacist assistant in this country?

    Thanks in advance.

None at all. Most assistants have few or no GSCEs. You will receive the minimum wage or less. Some posters cannot get jobs even though offering to work for free.

This is really sad. I thought that by moving here i will have bigger chance to find a job in my field, but i guess that situation is even worse then in Latvia!!! I am not even concerned about minimal wage, but i am on fire to get expierence, however i am not willing to work for free, so i guess i might as well go back and continue with master degree at least then the job is guaranteed there.

Sorry, but there are currently 25 applicants for every job in the UK. The streets are NOT paved with gold.

Are you eligible to work as a pharmacist in Latvia? If you are then you could apply for the Overseas Pharmacist Assessment Programme. The downside of that is that you would have to find a part time job to support you while you study and it will take at least two years to qualify to work in the UK.

Is there a chance you could get a part time role in a pharmacy to see if maybe you would like this as a career? Might help to clarify your situation. Sorry but I can't help with the educational content of today's courses. It's because i'm a bit old......

Hi all. I've finished foundation year in pharmacy at Manchester uni. Really want to work with smth related to pharmacy during summer. I applied to Boots and Lloyds, but they are full. Can you advise any other options?
