    Question asking about extemporaneous preparations.....

I am a third year student.I wanted to ask that does any of the working pharmacist have to do extemporaneous preparations nowadays,as i have heard that they do not have to nowadays because of dosage form diversity?

Main reason is paltry fee paid for the time and trouble taken. much easier to order from specials lab and receive decent margin.

except 6 products in category E which you would only be paid basic price for and thus sending off for a rather expensive special would be foolish but I dont know how frequently these are prescribed

You can always get anything, but at a price. The question is are you, or someone else, willing to pay the price?

Don't forget that the "Community pharmacy contractual framework (CPCF) funding settlement 2011/12, includes a Specials Tariff from November 2011."
