Hi
I would like to pursue a career in Pharmacy and would like to buy a book to introduce me to the career.
Are there any books you would recommend?
Thanks

Royal Pharmaceutical Society | What do pharmacists do?
Start here.
Would recommend that you keep your options open.
Start with medicine>veterinary>dentist>ophthalmics>pharmacy
Pharmacy is set to change beyond recognition once remote supervision and EPSR2 lifts off (which it will eventually).
Bear in mind that the profession (the community pharmacy branch) is becoming 'owned' by the Supermarkets/big business.
Good luck.

Where am I?; In the Pharmacy.
Who are you?; The new Number 2.
Who is number 1?; You are number 6.
What do you want?;..................
Yes, apparently Tesco and probably other Supermarkets consider a pharmacy as a means if increasing foot fall.
Naturally, the current need to have a pharmacist is regarded as 'a restraint on trade'

Hi there I would actually go and speak with your local pharmacist and ask them, get your self out there and ask questions. Then may be they can give you a 2 weeks of work experience ( if thats that you want) and see for yourself what it is all about. But Hospital pharmacy and community and industry are very different roles within the same profession.

Work experience is worth a million theory words.
If you talk to your local community Pharmacist he would both know you of old and be flattered for the compliment, and,,, hopefully give you an unbiased opinion.
I have seen virtually everything imagineable from sleepy lazy 1000 script per month shops to 1,000 per day factory shops! all have so much to offer as a career.
