Are these A Level Subjects suitable to apply for Pharmacy?

    Hi
I received my AS Level Results a few days ago, receiving 4 B's.
With a few retakes, I am hopeful that I can get a few A's.
If I take A Levels in Chemistry, Biology and P.E, will I be able to get into Pharmacy, provided I get the suitable grades?

    Thank you

    Hi

When i started my degree i got in with chemistry, human biology and art A levels and was offered a place with ABB grades.....although one university i applied to kicked up a fuss and claimed art 'wasnt a rigorous enough subject' and they wouldnt count it as an A-level! I think most universities seem happy with two science subjects plus one other. I think a lot of them interview now, so it somewhat rests on that too.

We had to do Chemistry, Physics and Biology. My daughter hated Physics and thus could not become a Pharmacist.

when i applied it had to be chemistry and at least one other science from maths, biology, physics...but minimum of 2 and most universities would look at all your choices of a levels and see how committed you are to doing the course....and yes they will look at the "arts" subjects and question why you chose them

    Hi,

Because everyone on this forum went to Uni in different places at different times when entry requirements were different, you're unlikely to get the information you're looking for. Your best bet is to look on the web page for the Pharmacy degree at whatever Unis you're thinking of applying for or in the prospectus; they should have entry criteria. You could also email admissions for the relevant department at the Uni and they'll be able to tell you.

different unis are different but normally two sciences are ok. just check on UCAS. Maths is a good thing to have though, we do a lot of calculations as a pharmacist.
