I'm about to start an apprenticeship as a pharmaceutical technician but am having little luck finding a work placement. The course will give me an NVQ level 3 in pharmaceutical science and pharmacy service skills. I thought people would be more interested since apprentices are basically cheap labour but most pharmacists I've spoken to don't understand what I'm after and have never heard of the course. The course is over 2 years and I am located in the West Midlands area between Birmingham and Worcester.
The course starts in mid March and if I don't find a placement then my place on the course won't be kept.
How can you start the apprenticeship without a placement? - Are you paying to do the course yourself and you need a placement to do the nature of the work required as part of the course?...
