cholesterol testing/ NHS health check in the pharmacy

Hello,

I am a final year student, currently doing my dissertation titled 'the views and opinions of pharmacists providing the cholesterol testing service'. I need to know, before I start my research, whether the actual cholesterol test is STILL performed alone in some pharmacies or is it always part of the newly implemented NHS health check.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Had a vogue while Zocor being promoted. Now rarely done as not funded.

So just to clarify, if a pharmacy does provide the cholesterol test it is likely to be done as part of the NHS health check?

NHS Health Check? Are pharmacies funded for this? If so how much? Or is it the usual no funds available?

Thought up by Alan Johnson a couple of years ago - for everyone above 40 who don't suffer CVD, includes check of risk of CVD, diabetes and CKD. Pharmacies mentioned as places to get checks although I haven't come across one that offers it yet.
