I've noticed your posts have become less contraversial since being elected!

With great power comes great responsibility eh?

ramroum - have you thought of such topic as mental health (depression is on top right now), dealing with stress or how stress may affect other diseases or even cause them?
Obesity is a good topic too, I guess. You could teach people how to reckon BMI for example.
No matter what you choose I think that is a good idea to prepare lome lefleats or brochures - you could give them to patients with short encouragement to make them feel welcome to come to your stall and ask some further questions.

Brilliant - ignore drugs completely and bring CBT to the masses. I love it.

Well, Jeff I'm afraid that you misunderstood me.
Some people simply don't know that their condition is serious or don't know if or how they should find more about it. Health promotions are to give them basic information not replace drugs or ignore them.

English humour again?
The idea of pharmacists promoting an alternative to drug treatment stikes me as funny.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is effective
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

- and can be self administered/self-taught

Home - Living Life to The Full

and is even recommended by NICE

ST Solutions LTD

Dear Cathedral,

Thanks very much for the good ideas.

Well, you should really write your own, but, you will find examples on the net somewhere.

I agree with johnep - you should write something on your own as you can't just freely reproduce what you find on the Internet.
But check those, maybe you will find it useful:
Obesity
WHO | Obesity
MedlinePlus: Obesity
Overweight and Obesity: Home | DNPA | CDC

You may prepare a questionnaire too - composed to find out if - for example - patients' eating habits are good or bad and give them some tips after revealing the results. But to do that correctly you really should do some research.

You may also prepare some small gifts for patients willing to take part in your action. Althoug I don't like stuff like that I observe that people simply love that. So you may consider this, but it's up to you if you find it the right way to attract them.

Dear Cathedral and Johnep,

Thank you very much.

I am overwhelmed with the fantastic help and support I get each time I need an advice from the most wonderful UK pharmacists. You are sooo lovely, and this forum feels like a real community. I think Admin or someone might like to organise a party or a social event for all the members to meet up and chat (I know it is not easy because you are v. busy, and we all live all over the place).
