Pharmacy as a very mature student with a medical degree!

DOes this still take four years, please ?

I am a medical dr who is fully registered with GMC and have ten years in the profession . I hold a coupld of clinical diplomas and am on my way to an MSC.

Health reasons are neeeding me to look at another profession.

My feeling is that there are no exemptions.

My other concern is that I am a doctor with a fairly poor scientific background and struggle with complicated chemistry!

    ALl gd wishes and thanks

If you intend to go into community, then from the frying pan into the fire!.
    1) You will be standing all day instead of talking in comfort to pts sitting down.
    2) Errors made by a Dr are civil offences, those made by a pharmacist are criminal.
    3) Salaries a third those of Drs.

Consider becoming a Medical Adviser to a pharma company. Most have medical depts headed by a Dr. Ours was a heart transplant Dr who could no longer work as a GP.

Unless the GPhC tweaks the system to allow short course transfers from Nursing or Medicine (and vice-versa?) there is no other route than the 4 year degree (MPharm) and Pre-reg year + exam.

What about being clinical safety officer for GP software companies?
Where am I?; In the Pharmacy.
Who are you?; The new Number 2.
Who is number 1?; You are number 6.
    What do you want?;..................

Lots of jobs used to be available for non practising medics. Even struck off Drs could find work on some ships, or in Africa etc.
Even had one working as a Medical Rep.

Errors made by a Dr are civil offences, those made by a pharmacist are criminal. Succinct.
