Can pharmacy students apply for positions as dispensers or do we need an NVQ??
Hi all.
I've just done my 2nd year in the Mpharm and am waiting to get my results and will hopefully go to year 3 in September.
The thing is I'm struggling financially, I have 5 kids to support and the last 2 years have been really tough both academically and financially. I knew it would be hard so I prepared for the challenge academically and have been up most nights after they go to bed doing the reading and coursework but financially especially with all my kids its really is hard!!
As I'm sure you are aware the course is 5 days a week and at my uni is 9-5 which doesn't leave me much time to work or see my kids. The student loan doesn't go very far when you're in my situation so I'm going to try and supplement my household income with a job. I know it will be hard but I need to support my family and the thought of 2 years to go without an income is really hard to come to terms with.
I've recently seen one in a pharmacy which is ideal in terms of hours, it's 6-10pm Monday to Friday and is local to where I live however the job specifies that the applicant must have NVQ LEVEL 2 and previous dispensing experience. I've have some dispensing experience from previous placements and time spent in dispensing at uni but I haven't got a NVQ level 2.
Do pharmacy students need to get a NVQ level 2 to dispense????
I appreciate an advice and help you can offer..... thanks for your time.
