any opinions as to what would open more doors within the drug industry. Obviously i can always obtain an msc in health economics and then an mba later in my career.
MBA through and through - it is more transferable to any situation - it really challenges you -makes you think more strategically. The thing is , an MBA is not cheap - there are alot of hidden costs as well as the course fees- therefore I would say do it earlier rather than later. Mine cost £85k in total when i consider tuition fees and lost earnings
sorry - forgot to say... in community..........management in hospital doesn't really exist!!...(IMHO) - all they do is push papers from one tray to another and gossip about carpets, curtains fixtures and fittings!!!! - example - in one hospital i "wandered" into - the highlight of conversation was "i'm having pork chops tonight" or " i went to the garden centre over the weekend and bought some fuschias" - -even though there was a pile of dispensing to do and an hour wait ... yes an hour wait for a box of diclofenac. And we wonder why the NHS has such inefficiency!
Yes thats very true. Its up to our new generation of pharmacists to solve these problems in the nhs. People would benefit so much more if such things didnt occur.
Congrats on your success. Looks like you are doing well for yourself. It is good to see someone taking an opputurnity to further there career. Quite a few pharmacists i know always moan but have not got enough will to make a positive change in their career/life. The reason i am studying pharmacy is pharmaceutical healthcare/business and the way drugs act on the body facinates me. My aim is to therefore work is pharmceutical business development or healthcare economics.
