Are you from UK, EU or non EU?

Generally, the govnmt will fund one degree only. If there is an official shortage in a profession, then they may fund. However, as another has found, on Monday shortage of pharmacists in community officially over and this may affect funding.

Mature students will not waste so much time in silly student pursuits, so likely to do well.
    good luck

Usually the gov will fund one degree, with the exception of re-training to a higher skilled degree. i.e Nurse to Doctor.
Rumours say that pharmacist upskilling to doctor funding is going to stop soon. read it somewhere, can't remember where.

hmmmm is my english that bad so you could not understand me? i doubt...
Simply, if you are a pharmacy grad, and want to re-train to become a Doctor, you maye not be able to get a student loan and will have to pay international fees.

Makes perfect sense for me, it ain't a charity. you should be responsible for your own actions. otherwise people will spend lots of years exchanging from a course to another, trying bits of this and bits of that, enjoying wasting money paid by tax payers.

i seriously won't look it up, just use google and search for it.... no need to waste my time on this one.

Wondering what would happen if swine flu spreads fast in the Uk and we face an epidemic? More interesting, what if some individual EU countries call on all the pharmacists working aborad (in the UK, France and Germany) to go home and serve their countries?
hmmmm not good, better not to think of that. surplus of pharm is still better than facing an epidemic.

    To BLUESKY,

Its been some months since you made your original post - did you come to a decision about whether to retrain? I'm in a similar position, same age, higher degree and considering a change to pharmacy?
I don't suppose you know which pharmacy schools, if any, have not yet implemented the international fees for people with a previous degree?
