Life Sciences graduate searching Work Experience

    Hello Everyone,

I've been trying to get some work experience in retail pharmacy, at local chemists, but no luck so far.

Anyone have any advice on how to obtain work experience?

I've had interaction with pharmacists as an Interpreter, explaining things like Inhaler technique to patients. And am very keen to persue a career in Pharmacy.

I'm looking for any kind of work experience in a retail pharmacy, be it half-day shadowing to full week. Needs to be in and around London.

I want to make my UCAS application for Pharmacy 2009 as strong as possible.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi

I would advise to continue popping into community pharmacies volunteering to do work shadowing. Show plenty of enthusiasm and flexibility in the hours you are prepared to undertake. Also, try getting more than just community pharmacy experience in. Aim to stand out from all other candidates. Pursue hospital pharmacy also and maybe shadow pharmacists on the prescribing team in local PCT's. Hopefully once you manage to get some work shadowing in you can network and other doors will open up for you.

    All the best.
