| I once had a young woman (about 20) prescribed a nitrolingual spray. It was when the patients age wasn't on the script. As I handed it over I said "it's obviously not for you" to which she told me it was, and had been prescribed by a hospital consultant for a stomach/bowel problem she had. I tried to think how nitrolingual spray could possibly help with this (from a pharmacology point of view) but couldn't think of any. I rang the Dr and he said it was on a letter from the hospital, just as the girl had said. When I pointed out my concerns, he agreed it must be wrong, and cancelled it. I think it was in my mind at the time to refuse to dispense it, but I was glad he agreed to stop it.
