It is worth a reminder to all - never leave the UK without travel insurance.

We have always taken it out - and we were able to claim part of the expense back after that trip.
I guess what really got to us is that although Mrs Pharmanaut is also a pharmacist we didn't take the 'extended first aid kit' with us. However, on all subsequent trips it is the first thing that gets sorted out.

As an employee - about half gets taken away before you see it.
As a locum - SFA (provided that you can spend enough)

As a ltd co, 19% on dividends. Just pay yourself the minimum wage and take the rest as dividend.

You may be asked to attend the interview. I was not asked to attend one, I think because others from my course had already come. I am not sure that I know anyone who went for the interview last year.

I think the books that may help really depend on the university you go to. You can easily get away with just using the libraries. One of my classmates is borrowing textbooks from the RPSGB library but I just use the university library.

I emailed all the course providers for book lists last year. If you pm me I will try to send the information to you.

I think during pre-reg it is £18000 at most but I don't really know. After that it depends on things like hours, chains and stuff like that.

To be honest with you I don't know, USA is much cheaper to get registered, I don't know if easier and I think salary is about the same but living is cheaper I have heard. Both seem to have problems with visa's work permits whatever.

Please bear in mind - If you decide to live here permanently you will end up buying a house. Property prices are incredibly high.

Yes you can work as a counter assistant or dispenser if you can get a job for up to 20 hours per week on a student visa. However you may earn more for your 20 hours in a call center or supermarket. It is quite tough working and studying full time on some of the OSPAP courses. Don't expect to earn much more that £4800ish which is less than the tuition fees but can really help with living costs.

good luck
