Re: Fun with iPhone/Android smartphone
I had an ok phone, but that was pretty 'slimline'. so much so that it fell out of my pocket in a taxi...and well... that's the end of that story! Been hesitant to spend anything over £20 for a new one.

Re: Fun with iPhone/Android smartphone
When I missed several days' locum work due to not seeing the email until I got home, I knew I needed a smartphone.
2 previous phones both approx 10 years old at replacement as I just don't care about the phone bit.

Re: Fun with iPhone/Android smartphone
Smartphones like the iPhone etc are actually very powerful pocket computers, constantly accessing the internet (except when they can't!!) with a phone app. And the ability to run programs (apps) inconceivable on traditional desktop or portable computers.

Or, to put it another, way, "Bloody hell! have you seen what this little thing can do!" (Closely followed by "oh, it's run out of battery.")

Re: Fun with iPhone/Android smartphone
My iPhone rarely runs out of power.
Mind you, it's plugged into various recharging sockets 80% of the time, with a v-e-e-r-r-y long cable!!
Roll on solar panel recharging; Apple have a longstanding patent on this!

Oh, I haven't got an i-phone, I'm so out-dated.

Re: Fun with iPhone/Android smartphone
Whatever technology you buy - computers, smartphones, cameras etc etc - it's out of date before you even open the box. Especially digital cameras; "wot, only 20 megapixels? Mine has 21.25 MP"
If it does what you want, there's no problem. Is there?
