BBC - Junior Doctors: Your Life in Their Hands

Anyone been watching this series? Its on BBC iplayer i think, if you want to watch it. Just reminds me why I don't want to be a doctor. I laughed when one of them talked about how A&E is always relentless and you are never on top of everything. At least in a pharmacy it is possible, but to put it in perspective, it would be like being in a Boots store, face to face dispensing with a queue going out the door, and everyone wants to wait for the prescription... Yeah, not quite that easy, but you get the idea.

Yeah I've been catching some of it on iPlayer, interesting stuff actually. The posh one (Keir?) started to grate on me constantly professing his love of paediatrics and his stupid noises.

yeah, he does come across as a bit pompous, "I see myself as an actor"? Yeah sure mate, whatever makes you forget that you'll be doing prostate examinations for the next 30 years. Rest of them seem ok, but not suprised by the girls initial nerves when she had to do stitches, as I have heard anything which requires some kind of special manual technique is usually performed by nurses.

I wonder if any of the pharmacy staff from the hospital are on the forum to give us a better idea of what these docs are like to work with.

love that programme. i had my doubts about the A&E dr but she is quite good, especially the way she handled the toilet brush up someones abck passage! "i fell off the toilet onto the toilet brush"...yeah right lol.

And as for the fat guy, wouldn't want him collapsing on me if i was having an arrest!

    itherwise good viewing!
