    World cup

I'm sure we are all following the world cup, and skiving off work to watch afternoon matches, and persuading patients to watch it on their bed side tvs (or is that just me?!?!?)

Not being an avid football watcher/player, i do try and take the time to follow the england matches at least..and then will sit down to watch the quarters and semis etc

But is it just me, or do we hype up the england team TOO much. i thought they were meant to be good, but to draw against both USA and Algeria is a little disappointing!! as individuals who earn proabably at the least £40,000 per WEEK each they are good, but as a team they are shockin!!

But what made me laugh was how annoyed Rooney was for the fans booing them. I prob would have booed them had i forked out the thousands it has prob cost them to travel to SA and watch a supposedly "good" team draw to teams who are well below them in the FIFA league tables!!

They are not a team - they are a group of highly paid, over-rated, wife-cheating average footballers. England fans are the first to cry out how world class the team is - and then when they (often) don't perform on the crucial stage, they are the first to b****ck them.
Disappointing is an understatement - they make France look exciting. My earliest memory of a World Cup was France 1998, but even though the World Cup comes about every 4 years, I much prefer watching the Champions League - the quality of football is much better.

Hey nicolai, we should be fair.
    It's a 4:2 in real.

Had it been 2-2 then who knows ? Germany might see this as revenge for '66 and the media and pundits can argue about it all day long, but that doesn't detract from the fact that England were woefully poor. Three goals scored at this World Cup and five conceded - must be their worst showing. And where does this leave the national team ? In four years I can see Mesut Özil as being an even better player for Germany (the supposedly youthful, inexperienced Germany who trounced our bunch of overpaid tossers "representing" our country).
Nothing said "we give up hope" in such a situation like bringing on the bumbling Emile Heskey to try and cure a three goal deficit. RUBBISH.

    Re: World cup

i don't think germany went out there with a vendetta to be paid back..they were the better team and played better than england......

i think the whole team (if they can call themselves that?!) needs an overhaul from manager down to players...they need to take a good hard long look at themselves and ask themselves what were they thinking? they seemed to have no passion out there...was embarrassing to watch!!

but i know everyone will play on the fact of that disallowed goal....if it had been 2-2 i don't think england would still have pulled it off....germany would still have got those extra goals, credit to them!

    Re: World cup

They may not have gone out with a vendetta but they went out to WIN and work as a TEAM, things which the England squad totally failed to do. I can just imagine Beckenbauer and Klinsmann laughing up the disallowed goal over a glass of Pilsener. Capello looks a goner now even if he doesn't choose to resign - so who should take charge ?

i'm sure they will rush someone through the doors on a multi million pound contract....

i think these days its the salary which takes precedent over talent

It was an exciting game I have seen.
As if it comes to statistics, probably England will win the next games.
