One of the best fish meals I had was on a tour boat in Majorca. Grilled Sardines, Ripe tomatoes, crusty bread and red wine.
At home used to enjoy deep fried sprats as nearest match.
Also enjoyed grilled sardines at a conference in Estoril.

Latest business idea from US. You provide the classy kitchen and food cupboard ingredients. Customers bring in main ingredient and cook according to recipes you provide. Called Dream Dinners.

We are being plagued by 000s of midges that somehow have penetrated the house. After discovering that they totally ignored my yellow sticky fly catcher, but loved wine, we laid some traps in the form of wine in shot glasses. We discovered that they went no where near a rose but drowned by the dozen in red merlot. Had not realised that flies could be wine connoisseurs.

Think they may be the vinegar fly which carries acetobacter. I do not propose to taste the wine left.

johnep, have you ever tried Cornish Sardines with spaghetti, pine seed, fennel, onions, and raisins fried with olive oil?
Did pick them up at W-Rose some times ago. OK, it's a bit fiddly preparing the fillets - but gorgeous I can say. ;-)

No, usually like plain food plainly prepared. What you suggest sounds good for a barbecue where all wrapped in foil.

Have enjoyed Moroccan Chicken at the Galleria beside the river in Cambridge. Thought I would try at home and looked on net. Daily Mail food page had a likely recipe but turned out very disappointing.
Anyone have a good recipe for this and the cous cous to go with it?
