Have been reading story of Simon Singh and the libel case brought by British Chiropractors Association. Simon wrote an article in the Guardian re claims that Chiropractors could help children's colic. The BCA sued for libel and case went against Simon. At this the journalistic world was outraged, and checked claims made on websites by chiropractors. Found 25% were making claims previously ruled against by Advertising Standards Authority. Included were some prominent members of the BCA council. Simon appealed and the BCA dropped any case. However, still left with legal bill up to 100K. What this means is that the threat of a libel case could push you into becoming bankrupt.
A clarification of the libel laws is being blocked by group of MPs who are sore about the press and the expenses scandal.

So, do not criticise alternative medicine or may face libel charge.
Justice is only for the rich.
