I have a few days off coming up, and think I really need to get out of the UK, so am considering a ferry to Cherbourg as a foot passenger. Has anyone any suggestions as where to stay for 2-3 nights? I just want to escape everyone I know and Pharmacy life for a bit!!!

Having seen the weather forecast for the coming week, I'd advise against travelling by Ferry- all cross-channel ferry-trips were cancelled yesterday because of adverse weather conditions.
How about a Eurostar trip to a Christmas market in Lille, or even Cologne? Dare I even mention Bruges and Brussels? They're quite nice, romantic places, you know...

It is a nice drop of lager though.
There are plenty of nice bistro places to eat as well.
Mind you we did visit before the credit crunch, when the Euro rate was still favourable.
