I have a friend who is a senior Psychology academic at Exeter University and who has written to me as follows:
I have a new online study that I need participants for. You may have already done it. If you have, that is fine and thanks. But is is not essential that you do it. You know about my work and that might affect your replies. What I would really like is if you tell your friends about it and forward them the url of the study:
I shall be doing it, but in the interests of academic rigour am not saying anything about apart from the fact that the last such was most interesting, thought-provoking and could affect the way one reacts to patients.

My only declarable interest is that she has helped my psychology student granddaughter (who isn't at Exeter)!
