oh no.. the pj just called me and i was so rude to the editor! i was practiacally shouting at her and i NEVER raise my voice..

She was really nice and is disgusted with my previous employer for using my work to benefit herself.

The woman i spoke to asked me if i was interested in writing more articles for them.. so perhaps it isn't the end of the world!! guys thank you so much xxxxxxxxxx

Katie, you might just have made yourself a friend in high places Especially if you contact the person you spoke to and apologise nicely if they thought you were rude.
Of course if you said so at the time, no need. But putting things right is the very best thing one can do. Customers generally come back, not to the place where all was well, but where something went wrong and was properly corrected. Odd, but true!

I really hope I have made a friend. I sent her an e-mail of apology and called her to make sure she got it - I think she accepted it ok, but you never really know do you? She said she didn't take it personally which was like music to my ears

She said that she is seeking legal advice about the situation and had called my old manager, who then told another lie by saying I was fired from my role there, and this was supposedly the reason I'm upset with them.
I handed my notice in october and worked 2 months notice as a favour for her, she even offered me another job (because I was relocating) which i turned down. Needless to say I'm even more furious with my old manager. My family believe I have a case for slander..

Katie DO NOT get into the hands of the lawyers, unless you belong to an organisation (eg Unite/The Guild or the PDA) which will provide qualified advice, or have house insurance which gives you free cover. It will cost you. Having said that, one of my "regrets I have a few" is NOT suing someone who publically lied to an NHS body about me!

He wasn't a pharmacist; if your ex-employer is, he or she is digging their own grave because you might well have reason for reporting them to the Stat Com. That will be a lot cheaper, and will scare hell out of them!

A correction has been published in this week's PJ (25 July), and also added to the article online.

Just found this post and was so pleased to see that the PJ helped and put things right. And good for you for standing your ground.
It's a shame when we find ourselves working with liars, cheats, thieves and selfish folk.

By the way, your article is a good one. Are you going to do anymore??? If you are, I could give you loads of ideas for them.

So the beef is that you were working for CPL and wrote the article. The other person then submitted it to the PJ without attributing the article to you?

Could have been an innocent slip on their part. many a published paper from Prof so and so actually written by one of the students under the supervison of the Prof.

By the way, are you related to the famous Irish journalist.?
glad to see you have been acknowledged.
