I'm a great fan of Puccini, Verdi, Mendelssohn, and Brahms, especially their choral works; I also love romantic piano concertos, of which there are a wonderful variety on the Hyperion CD-label, by many lesser-known composers such as Anton Rubinstein, Balakirev, Hans von Bronsart, Henselt, Emil von Sauer,...
Some pieces of classical music have the power to bring me to tears within minutes, I feel as though I'm being lifted (painlessly) by the skin of my neck, and am flying above everything... should I be worried? Is it just me who turns to jelly upon hearing Maria Callas & Giuseppe Di Stefano's rendition of "O soave fanciulla"?
