EVE is a massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) set in space - players trade, run missions, fight in wars, get involved in politics and diplomacy, manufacture and produce everything in a totally player-run and driven economy.
The unique draw for EVE is that unlike other MMO's the game is not split into many different servers hosting the same content. There is just one server and one persistant universe, with at any time up to 100,000 players connected to it simultaneously (up to now).
It's a very complex, time consuming and deep game to play.
