I spotted this on another forum and it made me laugh out loud, so I thought I'd share it:

Gary Rhodes says the 'Secret is not to prick them'.

Reminds me of a tourist from the USA asking in a bank what to do with a £10 note that had accidentally got torn in two. He got really angry when the bank clerk told him to "Stick it".

What other language could be so much fun.

You can always wind up N. Americans by telling them that in N England, many years ago, men were employed as "knockers up".

Used to do down the streets, apparently, banging on the windows of the houses an hour or so before the next shift was due to start at t'mill.

Means something ENTIRELY different in N America (Canada as well as US).

A rubber in the US is not an eraser.

In Australia Durex is sellotape!

There used to be a Durex sellotape factory in Arden Road, Bingley.
