Hi I am new here. I found the site as a link from Linnear's site. I contribute to Locum voice although as a proprietor I do only a few locums. but I have been asked to do some on a Sunday for a major supermarket chain and I think I should do so to see for myself. I also work as a prescribing pharmacist. I have been known to contribute to private Rx.

Pharmacy has been very good to me although I haven't always enjoyed it. I think that even though the present is fraught with danger it is also the most exciting time there has been in my 30 years on the register.

I passionately believe that profession leaders can say anything they want but that they must be able to carry with them the grass roots employee and locum pharmacists. Enhanced services will not happen if employees and locums (the largest proportion of the register) are not consulted, engaged and motivated. The treatment of employee pharmacists in the supermarkets is a disgrace and the superintendents should be up before the statutory committee, not just for their sins of omission but for the wounds they are inflicting on community pharmacy itself. I am sure I will get the opportunity to elaborate on that in the coming weeks!

I am a football fan and watch a premier league game every week. I also am an amateur musician. I am divorced with two daughters, one of whom is a pharmacy technician. I don't believe the tosh about global warming and drive fast cars with big engines. I also like drinking wine and going abroad to drink it there.
