internet will provide lots of examples. Your CV should cover what has happened since you took your first public exam at say, 16. list all universities etc and say where missing years were spent eg back packing in mongolia.
generally they will want to see a continous record. Year in prison is what they are looking for!.
List your academic achievements and any sporting prowess plus hobbies and interests.
