When I worked in Milton Keynes the following rules were applied:
1) Loans only made against scripts we were to collect.
2) Where pt said would bring in script, then NHS charge made to be refunded when script arrived, entry in Private Script book amended at that time.
3) If from out of town, the full ES regs applied.
4) ventolins charged at £8 as some pts found ES charge less than NHS charge and took advantage. SD still only charge about £4.
