First of all, I would tough it out and get on the register.
You have a fall back position then that will at least bring in 250 - 300 for a weekend. Possibly more?
Other options for pharmacists are ...
PGCE - get into teaching. They must still be crying out for science teachers?
Boost your income - do summer locum work?
Information Technology - Do a conversion MSc (computing or medical informatics), and move into the medical informatics sector.
Can you write articles? Most womens magazine articles about medicines are really badly written. Can you do better? It will give you experience and the incentive to write more.
Get into complementary medicine - people love it because it's 'natural'. People love being pampered with 'treatments'.
