2 years ?? current NICE guidelines stipulate up to 6 months if used concomitantly with aspirin 75mg for ACS ( Acute Coronary Syndrome) although most local guidelines / hospital consultants tend to go for 12 months.


As for plavix on its own ....surely in most cases it would be indefinitely because patients on this can't tolerate aspirin 75mg ...

research has also shown that most people over 65 , suffer from GIT bleeding when using both for a long time ....Clopidogrel does errode the stomach lining but not as mucg as asiprin .. so IMHO good MUR advice would be to take it with or after meals
